Central Lighting's 10W809 light bulb looks more like a 'conventional' incandescent bulb than many LED designs. The oversized, streamlined heat sink allows the LEDs to be enclosed in a diffusing globe, without overheating (NOTE: The bulbs still cannot be used in a fully enclosed or recessed fixture). 10W809 bulbs have a 180° light beam, making them good for torchiere floor lamps, or hanging ceiling fixtures with partial enclosures. The 10W809 produces 1000 lumens of warm white light, making them roughly equivalent to a 60 watt incandescent bulb, but using only 10 watts of power. 10W809 bulbs are regulated to produce consistent light, even when the voltage to the bulb varies.
Central Lighting manufactures some of the most reliable, long-lived, and efficient LED bulbs available today. All of their LED lighting products carry a full 12 month manufacturer's warranty, against defects in materials and workmanship. Other LED bulbs may cost less up front, but these bulbs are one of the best values for your money you'll find!
LED lighting is both much more efficient and longer lasting than other forms of lighting available. LED bulbs can last 15 times as long as obsolete incandescent bulbs, and more than three times as long as compact fluorescents. They also produce considerably more light per watt of power used, making them a money saver the entire time. Incandescent bulbs only produced around 14 lumens per watt, and while compact fluorescents improve on that with approximately 55 lumens per watt, these LED bulbs produce 100 lumens per watt! So, while the bulbs may be more expensive at first purchase, they pay for themselves over time.
